Recently, during the second tour of African countries, Dmitry Kuleba visited the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Morocco for the first time since 1992.  Negotiations were held regarding African cooperation and overseas Moroccans.

“Ukraine and Morocco are united by a long history of friendship and mutual respect.  Morocco supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.  The Moroccan student community is one of the largest foreign communities in Ukraine.  Ukrainian wheat is one of the traditional ingredients of Moroccan bread.  Today we have opened doors leading to new opportunities for our states, businesses and citizens,” Dmitry Kuleba.

A separate topic for negotiations was cooperation in the region of education.  Now the issue is being resolved about Moroccan students who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the russian invasion.  As a result, a memorandum was signed on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine named after Gennady Udovenko and the Moroccan Diplomatic Academy.  The Minister of Morocco also confirmed the possibility of resuming the work of the embassy in Kyiv.

“Since my first tour in Africa, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has trained more than 200 African diplomats from 16 countries.  It was the first such attempt and a huge success story.  We agreed to develop a unique course for Morocco, where we will share the experience of Ukrainian military diplomacy, strategic communications, fight against fakes and propaganda, as well as public diplomacy.  This will be our practical contribution to strengthening the resilience of the countries of the African continent,” summed up the Ukrainian minister.
