Citizens of Ukraine who have lost or stolen their driver's license while staying in Turkey now have the opportunity to renew this important document in Istanbul thanks to the initiative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, SE "Document" and cooperation with the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine.
This initiative is intended for Ukrainians who were forced to seek asylum in Turkey during the conflict in Ukraine. Now they can restore their driver's license that was lost or stolen. Until now, this service was limited to the exchange of a plastic driver's license form.
The place where Ukrainian citizens can restore their driver's license is located in Istanbul. To make an appointment for the renewal of a driver's license, you can either queue up using an online application or queue up on the spot.
It is noted that you can apply for this service if the driver's license has been damaged or is no longer suitable for further use due to damage or failure to read the information on it. Citizens can also restore the document in case of loss or theft.
To apply for this service, citizens must provide the following package of documents - a passport of a citizen of Ukraine with information on the registered place of residence (if the passport is issued in the format of an ID card and does not contain information on the registration of the place of residence, a corresponding extract is required)
- tax payment certificate;
- a document confirming the change of personal data (for example, a marriage certificate, etc.), in case of change of personal data.
